Intro to Adulting: Social Media

Intro to Adulting: Social Media

It was my first time being invited to sit at a panel about a week ago [week ago], where we discussed Social media. While I felt I was not well qualified with a lot of insight into technology in that sphere, I soon found that I knew quite enough to hold my own. It was an intriguing conversation that we had and I'd like to carry that on here and share the knowledge I gained from the experience that might be beneficial to others.

Come, come, come. Let us talk about something real brief.

People that know they have actual flaws in our character -  you know; the people that are chronic latecomers, the people that are rude, the ones that lose their temper like they get paid for it. The people that have a terrible attitude to work. The people that don't care for personal hygiene. The ones that look like they're constantly buying clothes they want to grow into.

I waited an hour for food in Montreal

So me, a whole me, Tolu 'There is rice at home' Arogunmati, waited in line for an hour, a WHOLE hour to eat food. Which food have I not eaten in this life that I will be standing outside? Outside in Canada cold for that matter. As I stared into the  Montreal sky that fateful evening, I wondered;

Waow, wonders shall never end.

Intro to Adulting: Funds

When you have put enough distance between yourself and your next paycheque with your savings and are ready to invest, you will notice that stocks and bonds can be quite complex to understand and pick. Stocks can be very rewarding if you know what you are doing but what if you just don't have the time to invest in the education to invest in each company. Well, financial institutions came up with a bunch of solutions based on the basics of funds which we will discuss in this post.

Congratulations, you failed!

Congratulations, you failed!

I know I've always been the overachieving type. I attempt things that are definitely over my head but the way I see it, I'd rather get the worst of the best things in life than be fine managing the best of average that I qualify for. The worst that could happen in this exam was that I'd fail. If I failed, I would still be in the same exact position anyways. But if I passed, IF by some Herculean effort I passed this exam, I would be on top of the world. That alone was worth the effort.

Now that we know how to budget our income appropriately, it's time to start discussing what to do with the goals/money shovel piece of the budget. We have effectively handled our debts and have created some distance between us and Murphy's law with our emergency funds & necessary insurance products.  It is now time to do fun stuff with money, investing it.

Intro to Adulting: Housing

So for most of us, buying a house is a pretty big deal. Literally & financially. It is a huge milestone and a very important achievement in adulthood. I can share that there is a huge difference especially emotionally between coming to a home you own and a house you rent. Having been on both sides, let me add to the rent vs buy debate, when to buy and home to buy brigade.
