I’d been sitting on a bunch of posts for a long time.
A lot of it I held back because I simply started to think a little too long, a little too hard. It is way past time and I’ve let myself get in my own way. I’m really not sure how to resume my blog but I can’t continue to leave it on pause. With that, I think I’ll start with a personal note. So here goes.
So I’ve waited a few days to get the new year new me blues out of my system. I’m not new, I’m not different neither so, we’ll have to manage. Oh, Kinda new Job though. That’s IBM in the image.
Yeah, I work there now.
After being told on Day 1 that my passport was not ID, I went to my father to discuss my situation. To my surprise, he laughed and told me, "how can someone employed by a multinational bank tell you your passport is not ID?" Now, I had some renewed vigour, I was going back there to speak to whomever was necessary to get my account.
Upon my arrival in my country, I made it one of my goals to open a bank account fully under my name. The ones I had previously were opened on my behalf by my parents when I was young, so the opportunity to get one as a semi-adult was here and I was going to take full advantage. I also felt it was necessary to be able to have some reserve or contingency in Nigeria.
